Camera systems that actually satisfy your insurer

July 7, 2026 · Lightning Creek Technologies

If your insurer has started asking pointed questions about site security, you’re not alone. Across construction, ready-mix, and industrial operations, carriers are tightening expectations — and a couple of dusty cameras pointed at a gate no longer clears the bar.

What insurers are really asking for

The language varies, but the intent is consistent: provable, retained, monitored coverage of the areas where loss happens. In practice that means:

  • Coverage of the actual risk zones — entrances, equipment yards, fuel and material storage, and any point where theft or injury tends to occur — not just a lobby.
  • Retention you can produce on demand. A 60-day retained archive is a common expectation. If an incident surfaces weeks later, the footage has to still be there.
  • Uptime and health monitoring. A camera that’s been offline for a month isn’t coverage. Insurers increasingly want evidence the system is actually running.
  • Resolution that holds up. Footage has to be usable as evidence — readable plates, faces, and equipment IDs, day or night.

Why this lowers your premium risk, not just your loss risk

A system that meets these standards does double duty. It deters and documents theft and liability claims, and it gives you the paper trail to satisfy an underwriter at renewal. That’s a genuine competitive moat: sites that can prove monitored coverage are cheaper to insure and easier to keep insured.

How we build to that standard

Every managed site gets AI-tuned cameras sized to the risk zones, a recorder configured for 60-day retention with drive-health monitoring, and 24/7 uptime monitoring on our side — so a dropped camera becomes a ticket for us, not a gap in your coverage discovered after a loss. You own the hardware; we own keeping it healthy and producing footage when it counts.

If your carrier has handed you a security requirement and you’re not sure your current setup meets it, send us the requirement and we’ll tell you straight whether it does — and what it takes if it doesn’t.

Enterprise-grade IT, without the enterprise overhead.

Tell us about your sites. We’ll show you what one flat monthly fee can cover.
